Read Time:2 Minute, 3 Second

Periods….that one time of the month we all hate! I’m quite lucky in a way as I don’t have regular periods and never have done, but when she does decide to make an appearance…my gosh is it heavy and I’m one of these that has to ‘double up’ with a pad as well as a tampon. Wearing pads has never been a great look, I just look like I’m wearing a nappy through my jeans constantly but without one, I’m kinda screwed

Brandnation recently got in touch with me and have kindly sent me this Intimina ‘Lily One Cup’ which is essentially a ‘start-up’ menstrual cup to try out. I won’t lie, when I first looked at the cup I was a little apprehensive as it seemed quite a thick silicone but after checking it out and seeing how flexible it was, I was more than happy to give it a go!

Inserting & removal of the cup

In regards to inserting the cup, at first, I was very uncomfortable as it felt ‘unnatural’ but with a little bit of practice, it does get easier. You simply just fold the cup and insert….it really is as easy as that! I did wear a little panty liner the first time I used this cup as I wasn’t sure if I’d leak…I didn’t, which is a massive thumbs up, so you can actually get away with just wearing the cup. Removing the cup was so easy also, you literally just grab hold of the removal loop, squeeze the base to release the seal and gently pull out.

 Making the switch

Intimina also stock a pelvic floor strengthening line designed to help women prevent and overcome pelvic floor disorders. Are you sick of pads & tampons and want to ‘make the switch’ to help our planet out? If so, I strongly recommend the Intimina range. I’ll certainly be purchasing more cups as and when needed for sure!
