Anybody who knows me will know I absolutely love a lip balm…that much so, that Paul actually bought me a DIY kit for Christmas. I’ve not had a chance to make any yet but since we’re all in lockdown…what a perfect time to get stuck in!

So the kit itself is nut-free, suitable for vegans, contains no minerals or palm oils as well as no parabens or SLS and the packaging is also recyclable. In terms of what the kit includes, you get extra virgin olive oil, organic shea butter, instructions, 2 x 15g tins, round labels and wooden stirrers, however, one of the things you don’t get included which you may wish to add, is an essential oil to scent. I’m lucky in the fact that Paul also got me a box of essential oils to go alongside this kit as I make a lot of bath bombs and soaps.

The lip balms were super easy to make, I took 20g of shea butter alongside a dash of the virgin olive oil, melted it in a jug and poured into the tins before adding my essential oils and chilling in the fridge.
