The UK has been yo-yo(ing) in and out of tier (s) for some time now due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. It has definitely had a massive impact on our day to day lives and it’s something that is taking such a long time to come to terms with for some. During the first lockdown back in March 2020, I had to shield with no human contact (apart from my boyfriend) for 3 months and I enjoyed it a lot more than expected. However the minute we went into the second lockdown in November 2020, it was a lot harder as my boyfriend had to work.
To say I wasn’t prepared for another lockdown here in Staffordshire would be a complete lie. I kinda expected it and had already planned activities to keep my mind busy.
4 ways to keep busy in a tier 4 lockdown
- Reading – You may think this is stating the obvious but reading can free your mind from the real world for a while. I’ve never been a reader, however, I’ve purchased a few books to keep me occupied with this lockdown. Obviously choose to read the genres you like (romance novel, humour, fictional etc) and you’ll be good to go!
- Working Out – A lockdown in the new year can only mean one thing….let’s get fit. We don’t necessarily need gyms to work out as there are tons of tutorials on youtube that can help us. I personally like following Chloe Ting’ as that girl is incredible and has some fabulous routines. Wanna know the best part….? You don’t need any equipment!
- Baking – Again, this may be stating the obvious seeing as all we did in the first lockdown is bake haha. Seriously though….investing in a baking book during lockdowns is a MUST. I’m not the best baker but I sure will give it a go and it definitely is a way to activate your mind.
- Writing – This one may not be for everybody, but writing can really help free up our mind. It takes us away from the present and focuses on a dream in our head. I really want to start getting back into writing fully (hence the blog) and I just know it’s gonna be so good for me.
So those are my top 4 ways of keeping busy during a tier 4 lockdown. I really hope you like these ideas and even try some of them out as I love to think I’m helping people!
Stay safe & I shall see you next week – x
